Gary Robert Caragein

With heavy hearts, we sorrowfully share the passing of our cherished Gary Robert Caragein, on January 26, 2025. He was the beloved son of Jane and James Caragien; deeply mourned by his loving children, Olivia, Garrett, and Emalia Caragein; brother of Dave Caragein (Marie), Leslie Staiger (Kurt); significant other to Cherie; survived by the mother of their children, Christina Caragein. Gary was also an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

Gary took pride in his children and all their accomplishments, as often seen through his Facebook posts. He shared his love of sports with his children, being a superb athlete himself playing as a running back on his high school football team and on the Duquesne football team. Gary also wrestled for his high school team at Keystone Oaks. He would accompany his kids to their sports games and practices. They enjoyed going to Steelers, Penguins, and Pitt football games together, as well as watching the games from home. Gary had many pastimes and hobbies, including listening to music. His favorite artists being the Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Mumford and Sons, and Pearl Jam. He enjoyed going to many of their concerts with his family and loved ones. Gary and his family shared a love for food and enjoyed many family dinners cooking together and eating out. He was also very passionate about his career in the medical field as a pharmaceutical sales representative.

Gary will be remembered by all those that he knew and will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

Family and friends welcome Thursday, from 1-3 & 5-7 p.m., at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, PA 15216, Where a blessing service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be private for the family.
