Harold G. (Hal) Morgans
With thanks for his boundless love, kindness and good humor, we celebrate Hal Morgans, 80, of Mt. Lebanon, who passed July 2, 2025, after a brave five-week battle following a stroke.
Hal was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania to Gomer Wendell and Doris Green Morgans. After moving to Pittsburgh, he was an outstanding student/athlete, starring in baseball and football at Mt. Lebanon High School and serving as the class officer who went on to organize reunions for 60 years. He graduated from North Carolina State University, where he was a standout on the Wolfpack football team. He launched a successful career in sales/ marketing management at Fisher Scientific and ultimately started his own firm, Interlink, which Pittsburgh Business Times ranked among the top 10 consulting firms in Pittsburgh. Hal loved any sport played with a ball, coaching youth sports, watching his kids and grandkids on the field, stage or backyard swing, corny puns, board game nights and cocktails in the cozy front courtyard he created.
Most of all, he loved his wife of 24 years, Susan Fleming Morgans, who survives, and family—children Lance Morgans (Colleen), Sean Morgans (Shannon), Kelly Schraven (David); stepdaughter Elizabeth Windsor (Ben); and grandchildren Lily (Ricky) Martin, Beau Morgans, Will Morgans, Jane Schraven, Jake Schraven, William Windsor and Andrew Windsor. He leaves behind siblings Donna Dalgard, Beth Stanley (Tom), Shelley Tetley (Warren), Meg Orlansky (Bill), Judy Hertwick (Mark), Kim Cable (Chris), Jan Leopold (Ernie) and David Morgans (Leslie), as well as many special nieces and nephews. Hal’s and Susan’s dogs Wally, Norris and Navajo, held special places in his heart.
Burial is private. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, July 23, at 1:30 p.m., in Providence Point Chapel, 500 Providence Point Boulevard.
