Harry N. Pasqual, DMD, of Palm Beach, FL, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully on July 24, 2024 at the age of 97. Beloved & cherished husband of Dr. Roberta Pasqual; beloved father of Dr. H. Paul Pasqual (Susan) of Mt. Lebanon, Ronald C. Pasqual of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Dr. John R. Pasqual (Nicole) of Boynton Beach, FL.; beloved grandfather of Paul G. Pasqual (Amanda) & Nicholas M. Pasqual; brother of Lillian Allison (deceased) & Dr. Robert J. Pasqual (deceased); also survived by nieces Susan (Mark) Swieterman, Dr. Barbara (Hugh) Allison-Bryan, Mary Ann (Sam) Wiley and Patricia (Christopher) Nicholson. Harry was born in Mt. Lebanon on August 22, 1926 and graduated Mt. Lebanon H.S. in 1944. Throughout his youth, he would help his father in his small grocery store across from St. Bernard’s Catholic Church and later delivering groceries with his younger brother. At the young age of 17, with his father’s blessing, he enlisted in the Navy to serve during World War II and did so from 1944 – 1946. Following WWII and under the G.I. Bill, he was admitted as one of the first men to Carlow College, completing his initial two years at Mt. Mercy and then transferring to the University of Pittsburgh (’49). He would later achieve his Masters Degree and Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Pittsburgh (’56). Dr. Pasqual would achieve his Master of Science – Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 1959 having completed residency at St. Francis Hospital and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC). After graduating residency, Dr. Pasqual settled back into Mt. Lebanon, starting his family and Pasqual Associates, a successful Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery private practice there for over five decades, expanding later into East Liberty and McMurray, PA. Always an avid student to his field, teacher to those coming up in the profession, and researcher in advancements of the specialty, he stayed on as Clinical Professor of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and would later serve as President of the Alumni Association of the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Pasqual was a member of the medical staff at St. Francis General Hospital, St. Clair Hospital, Jefferson Hospital and UPMC Hospitals and a consultant in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery for the Veterans Hospital of Pittsburgh. Passionate about academia and teaching both dental students and OMFS residents, Dr. Pasqual was one of the first to use lasers in his treatment of patients in surgical practice. He was a Fellow of the American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons and Fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine & Surgery, publishing numerous articles in scientific journals through the years. When not practicing, Harry was fond of golf and a long-time member of St. Clair Country Club. He loved to draw and paint, cook and read non-fiction. He was the best of the greatest generation – a true gentleman and will be forever missed by family, friends, colleagues, students and anyone that was fortunate to meet him. WE LOVE YOU DAD.
Friends received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Rd, Mt. Lebanon, on Friday, August 9, from 4 - 8 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10:00 AM in St. Michael the Archangel Parish - St. Bernard Church. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine 3501 Terrace St. Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
