born December 11, 1927, passed away on September 19, 2023, at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter S. and Helen Reed Butler. She leaves one brother, Reed H. Butler, of Louisville, Kentucky.
Helen graduated from Brentwood High School, Brentwood, Pennsylvania. From there she attended Grove City College, Grove City, Pennsylvania, for two years, receiving her Associate Degree.
Helen then went to work for Trans World Airlines in downtown Pittsburgh. Several years later she was hired by United States Steel Corporation at their headquarters in downtown Pittsburgh as a stenographer. While there she attended night school at the University of Pittsburgh and later earned her Bachelor of Science degree.
After Helen graduated, she later worked her way up to the position of secretary to the President of U. S. Steel Leslie B. Worthington.
Helen retired in 1992 after 33 years with United States Steel Corporation.
Helen was a member of Mount Lebanon Christian Church where she served as a deacon and then as an elder. She gave generously to the church and many other charities.
Service and Interment in Jefferson Memorial Park were private.
