Ileana Wyerman

Age 96, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully at home on July 9, 2020. Her long life was marked by unflagging devotion to her family, friends and faith in Jesus. She was a member and a tireless volunteer of Sunset Hills United Presbyterian Church for 55 years. Ileana grew up on the South Side of Pittsburgh and was the beloved daughter of Myrtle & Dr. Robert L. Hutchinson, a Presbyterian minister, and the sister of Wendell R. Hutchinson. Her favorite time was summer at Chautaugua Lake with her family. She graduated from the University of Pittsburgh BS Chemistry, Duquesne University MS Education, and found fulfilment as a Stephen Minister, lay church members counseling others with grief and difficult transitions. Beloved wife of Robert L. Wyerman for 70 years, Ileana was the ‘social chairman’ of the family of four children. She loved organizing events, bridge club, scout meetings and educational outings for the kids. She loved sewing, quilting, the outdoors, baking apple pies, and most of all, holidays with family. Faith, learning and helping others were family values she treasured and passed on. Survivors include children Barry R. Wyerman (Karen) of Huron, OH; James K. Wyerman of Takoma Park, MD; Marilyn S. Wagner (Robert) of Wexford, PA; Kathleen A. Stockdale (Greg) of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Ileana is predeceased in death by her husband, parents and brother. Memorial donations may be made to Sunset Hills United Presbyterian Church in Mount Lebanon, PA. Memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
