Age 70, of Overbrook, peacefully on Monday, March 21, 2022. Beloved husband for 45 years of his recently departed wife, Cynthia Ann (Dalzell) DeFrancesco; devoted father of James A. DeFrancesco, Jr, his wife Krista and Jessica A. Shimko, her husband Robert; loving grandfather of Nico, Luciano, Rome, Rocco, and Maggie; son of the late Alfred and Rose (Pagliaro) DeFrancesco; brother of Anthony (Susie), Bobby (Linda) and Ronald (Janet) DeFrancesco; beloved son in law of Ann Louise and the late William J. Dalzell, Jr.; brother in law of the late William J. Dalzell III; also survived by many nieces and nephews. Jim was a union electrician with Duquesne Light Company and spent 40 years at Don’s Appliances. He lived by the family mantra often echoed by his grandfather, “You no Work, You no Eat.” Family and friends will gather at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon on Sunday afternoon, April 3rd from 1:00 until 4:00. Service and interment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be Private. If desired, memorials may be made to Cross You Paws Rescue of Pittsburgh.
