James R. Metzmaier

Age 94, of Mt. Lebanon, surrounded by his family, passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday April 17, 2022. Beloved husband for 69 years of Sarah "Sally"; father of Carole (Chris) Nomides, Diane (Tom) Sixsmith, Jim (Toni), Ed (Linda), Dan (Lisa) and Brian (Autumn) Metzmaier; also survived by 19 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Jim was enlisted in the Navy from 1950-1954 and loved telling about his Navy travels and adventures. He was a graduate of South Hills High School and the University of Pittsburgh School of Engineering. He thoroughly enjoyed life and especially spending time with his family. Jim's "happy place" was East Brady where he built a cabin and loved seeing the children in the river. Friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes 222 Washington Road Mt. Lebanon on Wednesday 1-3 & 5-8 PM. Services will be held in the Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church 975 Washington Road Pittsburgh, PA 15228 on Thursday at 10:00 AM. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Lebanon United Lutheran Church or to a charity of one's choice.
