James W. Stockham, 92, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on Wednesday evening, July 21, 2021. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia and their son, Peter. He is survived by his loving wife, Aileen; his son, Michael (Kathy); his grandchildren, James and Erica; and his great-granddaughter, Angela. He is also survived by Aileen’s daughter, Dana Barker; and Aileen’s sons, Jeff Barker; Richard Barker (Tracy) and their family. Born and raised in Des Moines, Iowa, Jim graduated from Drake University, receiving his B.A. Degree. He subsequently enlisted in the United State Air Force, where he completed flight training and graduated as a commissioned officer. He served as an All Weather Interceptor Pilot under the North American Air Defense Command. After four years of active duty he attended the University of Chicago, receiving his M.A. Degree. He began his business career with Joseph T. Ryerson and Son, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Inland Steel. During his business career he was assigned various plant operation, sales and general management positions at Ryerson’s Los Angeles, Chicago, Dayton and Pittsburgh Plants; Pittsburgh being his last service location from which he retired. Jim was a life member of Theta Chi Fraternity and was a former member of Chartiers Country Club, The Duquesne Club, The University Club and The PAA. Viewing hours have been omitted. Everyone is welcome to attend his Memorial Service in St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1066 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, on Saturday afternoon, July 31, 2021 at 3:00. NO FLOWERS, please.
