Janet L. (Pecman) Brooks

Age 84, of Castle Shannon, passed away peacefully on August 5, 2026, in the comfort of her home. She was born on June 28, 1942. Daughter of the late Marion and Miroslav Pecman; beloved wife of the late Russell D. Brooks; loving mother of Robert (Donna) Brooks, Jeffrey, and Nancy (Greg) Gramm; devoted grandmother of Courtney (Ryan) Steele, Carly (Sam) Voltatti, Bobby, Mitchell, and Mallory; adored great-grandmother of baby James; dear sister of Linda (Gary) Simko; also survived by her niece Erin and nephew Russell.

Janet was a giant eagle employee for 25 years. She had a love for music and spending time in the cultural district. Nothing gave her more joy than being a mom, grandmother and recently a great-grandmother. She always looked forward to family time, especially the holidays. Janet was a great cook! Most of all a great mom!!    

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 1008 Castle Shannon Boulevard, Castle Shannon, PA 15234, where a prayer service will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, August 12, 2026. Interment to follow at Jefferson Memorial Park, 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
