Age 93, of Concordia in Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Bethel Park, on Friday May 15, 2020. Daughter of the late Jesse Alexander and Jean (Dailey) Higgins; beloved wife for 66 years of her recently departed Robert W. Cook; loving mother of Robert William Cook, Jr. (Louise Ann) of Bethel Park and Beverly Cook Barron (Robert) of Mt. Lebanon; cherished grandmother of Jessica and Carolyn Cook, Amy Barron Lucas (Andrew) and Kimberly Barron Read (Benjamin); great grandmother of Addison, Karley and Jonathan Lucas; Charlotte, Heidi, Lucy and William Read. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio but lived in Washington D.C. during World War II where he father, a Lt. Colonel in the Army, was stationed. She graduated from Washington’s Woodrow Wilson High School. After the war, the family returned to Ohio where she attend and graduated from the University of Cincinnati. Prior to her marriage she was employed as an executive secretary by Thomas Emery and Sons. In 1960 she moved to Pittsburgh with her husband and settled in Bethel Park. Jean was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, the South Hills College Club and Satellite Welcome Wagon of Bethel Park. She was also a member of Ruthfred Lutheran Church, where a Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Ruthfred Lutheran Church, Concordia of the South Hills or Good Samaritan Hospice.
