Joan Grace (Bicker) Steigerwald

Age 87 of Whitehall. On Tuesday, November 14, 2023 was peacefully called to her Heavenly home. Beloved wife for 57 years of the late Donald F. Steigerwald; devoted mother of Stacy L. (Kevin) Maehling and the late Scott Steigerwald; loving grandmother of Kiera H. Maehling; sister of Arden Bicker, Alvin (Judy) Bicker, David Bicker and her twin sister, the late Jean (Charles) Hieber; also survived by nieces and nephews. Joan was born in Odell, Nebraska on August 24, 1936. She had retired from Mellon Bank. Joan enjoyed making floral arrangements and gardening. Her real joy was her family and her faith. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Whitehall. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Tuesday, November 21st from 4:00 until 7:00pm. Services will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 418 Maxwell Drive, Whitehall on Wednesday morning at 10:30 (Everyone Please Meet at Church). Interment will follow in The National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. If desired, memorials may be made to The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or The Wounded Warrior Project.
