John L. Meighen, Jr.

Age 87, of the South Hills on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. Son of the late John L. and Bertha E. (Fenske) Meighen; devoted father of Kim Edward Masi, Ralph Masi, Reid A. Masi (Michelle Rock), Lyn A. Fahey (TJ) and Betty Meighen (Dan Wendell); proud grandfather of Mitchel, Shawn, Patrick and Riley; brother of George A. Meighen and the late Martha Jamison; his children’s mother, the late Rose Meighen; also survived by nieces and nephews. John was a proud United States Marine Corps Corporal who served during the Korean War. He was a lifelong truck driver and retired from the U S Postal Service. John was previously a local Constable in the South Hills. “Jarhead” as he was affectionately known, was the former Quartermaster and Commander of the McCormick-Dorman VFW Post 694 in Dormont. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Thursday and Friday from 4:00 until 7:00pm. Interment in Greene County Memorial Park will be private. If desired, memorials may be made to Dormont VFW Post 694, 3014 West Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216.
