John Springer Obituary

Age 81, of Dormont, passed away peacefully on Saturday December 26, 2020 at Kane/Scott Regional Center. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Caron and two sons, Richard and Edward. Jack was one of two children of Helen and Jim Springer. He was preceded in death by his sister, Arlene. Jack was a construction plumber and very proud to be a member of Plumbers Local #27 for over 50 years. Later Jack worked at UPMC Shadyside in the maintenance Dept. Plumbing Shop. He counted the staff and his co-workers at Shadyside among his best and most enduring friends. Jack, a lifetime Pittsburgh resident, was an avid sportsman. He enjoyed the Steelers, biking, fishing, hunting and traveling. He was called "The World Traveling Plumber" on his retirement plaque. After retirement, Jack enjoyed hanging out with his friends and a glass (or two) of red wine. Jack will be remembered for his kindness, congeniality, and GREAT sense of humor. When friends hear the words "casino" or "scratch-off tickets", they will always think of Jack and smile. The Springer family would like to extend thanks to the staff at Kane for their care and kindness. He was a member of the Kane family for five years. Private arrangements were entrusted to Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Mt. Lebanon. Memorial donations in his memory can be made to Montour Trail Council, Suite #3, 2nd Floor 304 Hickman St. Bridgeville, PA 15017. (this is the organization that maintains the bike trail that we rode on) or the Parkinson Foundation of Western PA 575 Lincoln Ave. 1st Floor, Bellevue, PA 15202. The local chapter was very helpful and supportive. "In closing, I would like to say Jack Springer was a good man and wonderful husband and we are going to have one "hell" of a party this summer in his honor." Caron.
