John G. Vorko

John (Pop) Vorko, age 104, of Asbury Heights, Mt. Lebanon, formerly of Swisshelm Park and originally from Leechburg, PA; passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 9, 2024. 

Beloved husband for almost 70 years of the late Evelyn Louise (Panza) Vorko; devoted father of Maryann (the late Frank) Reabe and Mark (his wife Lorraine) Vorko; loving grandfather of Michele McAllister (her husband Mike), Daniel Reabe, Amanda Vorko and Angela Vorko; also survived by two beautiful great-grandsons, Owen and Leo.

John was a WWII Veteran, serving as a Private First Class in the Army. He also worked for the US Postal Service for 32 years before retiring in 1984.  John was a proud family man and respected by all who knew him for his sharp mind and fierce independence all the way to the end. 

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Asbury Heights in Mt. Lebanon for the care and support they provided over the past 10 years.  John considered the extraordinary employees of the Asbury Heights Health and Wellness Center as family, and we are grateful for the loving care, friendship, and kindness you showed to our beloved father and pop.  

Services and interment will be Private and provided by Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, Mt. Lebanon.
