Joseph Flynn, Jr. Obituary

Joseph P. Flynn, Jr., 79, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday September 16, 2025.

Born on February 17, 1946, in Phillipsburg, NJ, he was the son of the late Joseph and A. Ruth Flynn. A proud graduate of LaSalle University and valedictorian of Phillipsburg Catholic High School, Joe carried a lifelong love of learning and achievement.

Throughout his career, he served with dedication at the Department of Energy, Duquesne Light, and most recently at WesBanco  prior to his retirement

Joe is survived by his loving wife, Ann, and their children, Christopher, Timothy, and Erin (Mike). He is also remembered by his siblings Gene, Colleen, Terry, Allan, and Pat, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A devoted Catholic and longtime parishioner of St. Thomas More Church, Resurrection Parish, Joe’s faith guided him throughout his life. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and a great admirer of college basketball, but above all, he will be remembered for his remarkable gift for storytelling and the joy he brought to those around him.

Family and friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, on Tuesday September 23, from 3 - 7 PM Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Thomas More Church, Resurrection Parish, on Wednesday, September 24, at 1:00 PM.
