Joseph McHugh, of Mt. Lebanon, embodied the adage of a life well lived. Surrounded by family and friends to commemorate his 92nd birthday, our Lord then called Joseph home to reunite with his loving wife of sixty-six years, Eleanor (May) McHugh. Together, they happily raised six children: Lory (Bob) Kanspedos, Edward, Daniel, Mary (Fred) Lasota, Rebecca (Bob) Jablonski, Ellen (Sam) Arnone.
Dad delighted in watching the family grow to include eleven loving grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
As a man of faith, his core values mirrored those fostered throughout years of esteemed Marine Corps service.
Semper Fidelis epitomized his fatherly role: Always faithful!
As the last surviving sibling of ten, Dad cherished his humble roots as well as reading, sports, playing classic records and cribbage. His fondness of Deer Lake also bears mention. Dad’s legacy lives on through the countless memories created for his family to treasure forever. Requiescat in pace. A Memorial Mass will be held in his honor at St. Anne Church, St Paul of the Cross Parish on Saturday, January 31, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions in Joe's name may be made to: missionwithinfoundation.org
