Katherine Mary (Murphy) Gross

Age 65, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday, June 18, 2022. Beloved wife of Stephen F. Gross; devoted mother of Christian (Zoe) Barone, Corrie (Aaron) Kinney, Asunta Barone (fiance’ Zachary Lewis), Grace (Raymond) Briggs, Clare Gross; stepmother of Heidi Gregori, Timothy (Katie) Gross, and Ashley (Carlos) Mata; daughter of Daniel and Joyce (Carvlin) Murphy; sister of  John (Rose), Maureen Lucas, Bernard, Terrance, Mary "Molly", Meghan (Anthony) Porco, Christine (David) Schramm, the late James and Dennis (survived by Delores) Murphy; also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Kathy was devoted to her faith.  She retired from the federal government as an employee of the Department of the Army. She felt privileged to work with the servicemembers of the military serving at Ft. Myer and Arlington National Cemetery.  Kathy was full of light, love and joy which she brought to everyone who knew her. Her love and joy will always be remembered and shared in the world by those she leaves behind. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 until 4:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church, 311 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 on Monday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to Special Olympics or the Wounded Warriors Project.
