Kathleen Wilmoth Michael, beloved wife, mother, Nana, and friend to all who knew her, passed away on Thursday, July 23rd, at the age of 71.

Born in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, Kathleen was the daughter of the late Harry, a Marine Veteran, and Hilda, a devoted teacher, and raised alongside her brother James. She and her husband Thomas were high school sweethearts and married in July of 1977, recently celebrating 49 years of marriage together. They built a life of joy, travel, devotion and love for one another, their family, and the Lord.

Kathleen was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She raised three children Patrick (Jaden) Michael, Philip (Cassie) Michael and Julia (Taylor) Schmidt with unwavering care, finding motherhood to be one of her greatest callings and joys. She also had the blessing of being a most cherished Nana to her 6 grandkids, Noora, Hallie, Theodore, Fiona, Arthur and Finnan.

Kathleen was an active church member of Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church for many years, serving as a Sunday school teacher, United Methodist Women member, and volunteer for many church functions. She also felt strongly about giving back to the community and was a continued supporter of many nonprofits that served the less fortunate. Kathleen was a prayer warrior, praying ardently for her loved ones, church community, and the world at large, speaking to the power of prayer throughout her life, including the miracle of living through stage IV cancer for 6 years.

Kathleen was the kindest soul, always including others, speaking a sweet word, and sending gifts and written notes to everyone she knew. Her heart was for others, and she found great joy in the success and happiness of those around her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Family and friends will be welcomed at Mount Lebanon United Methodist Church, 3319 West Liberty Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15216, on Friday, July 31st from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow in Mount Lebanon Cemetery.
