Leo Gill Obituary

Leo Patrick Gill, 85, was taken home to the Lord peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, February 12, 2021.  Mr. Gill was an outstanding husband, father and grandfather who savored every moment with his family. Mr. Gill was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying hunting, shooting and fishing. He was a proud, life-long member of the Imperial Beagle Club and The National Rifle Association.  He especially enjoyed attending his kid’s and grandkid’s many sporting events. He was also a devout Catholic and member of St. Bernard’s Church in Mt. Lebanon. Mr. Gill was born and raised in the Polish Hill section of Pittsburgh. He was a 1953 graduate of Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School. He would go on to graduate from Duquesne University with a degree in Business. Mr. Gill would serve two decorated tours in the United States Army as an Infantryman. He would spend most of his vocational life employed by the County of Allegheny as a civil draftsman. Mr. Gill is survived by his loving wife of 57-years, Pamela (Buck), children Erika (Timothy) Tonges of Los Gatos, California, Preston (Kendra) Gill of Hopewell, Curtis (Cindy) Gill of Canonsburg, and Bridget (Kenneth) Watson of Mt. Lebanon. Mr. Gill is also survived by nine beautiful grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicholas, Jacob, and Katherine Rose of California.  Turner, Savannah, Tyler, Roman, and Kamden of the Pittsburgh area; a sister Carol Quatchak and niece Amy Mueller. Visitation will be private for the family. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered in St. Bernard Church on Thursday February 18, 2021 at 10:00 AM. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association 2835 East Carson St. Suite 200 Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
