Linda Christine (Lanz) Ferguson Obituary

Age 77, passed away peacefully on July 27th in Aiken, South Carolina. She loved and was loved by all who knew her. Linda was the daughter of the late George and Phyliss Lanz. She will especially be missed by her loving husband Ken (Kenny), and her many friends and relatives.

Linda’s final years were spent with Ken in Aiken. They were married for 49 years, full of friendship and love. She was born in the Pittsburgh area and grew up in Mount Oliver. From early on Linda loved to travel with Ken and their friends and enjoyed much of the United States, Europe, and the Caribbean. She loved sports, especially the Pirates and Steelers. After marriage Linda became a University of Michigan sport’s fan where Ken graduated. She was also well known for her wonderful taste in clothes.

Linda was involved for decades as a legal secretary for law firms around Pittsburgh, being a respected contributor to many proceedings. Many years after she and Ken settled in Aiken, she continued to be involved.

Linda enjoyed the Jersey Shore, birds at the feeders, reruns of “Dallas” and “Perry Mason” and a good hamburger or hot dog. She never saw a red rose or azalea she didn’t want to look at. When soil allowed, she grew very successful eight-foot vines of cherry tomatoes, for example. She treasured the many friendships she built throughout her life and remained connected with friends in countless ways, including regular Zoom conversations that kept everyone close no matter the distance. People were naturally drawn to her warm smile, cheerfulness and she was immediately liked by all. She reflected kindness, compassion, and genuine interest she showed in everyone she met. She often remarked how grateful she was to have so many wonderful friends. Those who knew her would say that once you met Linda, it was impossible not to have her as a friend.

Linda was a beautiful soul and will be missed dearly.
