Loretta Zak

Loretta J. Zak, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at the age of 90.

Beloved wife of the late Edward T. Zak; devoted mother of Paula Z. (John) Johnson and Edward F. (Marie) Zak; cherished grandmother of John (Hannah) Johnson, Brian Johnson, Nicholas Zak, and Anna Zak; sister of the late Felix (Valerie) Olivani. She is preceded in death by her parents Felix and Pauline Olivani as well as a dear sister-in-law, Marion Ranalli.

Loretta, affectionately known as “Puny” by her many friends and relatives, graduated from St. Francis Academy and remained a proud, active alumna throughout her eighties. She worked as a bookkeeper for both Verscharen’s grocery store and the Mt. Lebanon Parking Authority. However, Loretta dedicated her life to raising her children and prioritized her family above all else. In her later years, she drove from Pittsburgh to Hollidaysburg on a weekly basis, providing that same loving care to her grandchildren. They will miss her dearly.

Friends received on Friday, May 1, from 4-7pm at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Rd. Pittsburgh, PA 15216. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, May 2, at 10am at St. Michael the Archangel Parish, St. Bernard Church, 311 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15216.
