Lynn Heintzleman Obituary

Age 86 of Mt. Lebanon, PA, passed away peacefully at her home in Providence Point on July 28, 2025.  A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, her family was central to her life.  She was born on Mt. Washington on January 11, 1939 to the late Joseph Baker and Victoria (Shultz) Baker.  She and her parents enjoyed gardening together, as well as drives to Presque Isle and to other scenic places.  They were members of the Brookline Blvd. United Presbyterian church where Lynn met Walter Heintzleman, to whom she was married for 67 years.  She is also survived by her two sons - Keith and Scott (Margie) and her four grandchildren - Zachary, Jacob, Sean, and Peter.

Lynn enjoyed time with friends and family, picnics at South Park, and weeks at Deer Valley YMCA camp.  Wherever they gathered, her tasty desserts were enjoyed by all.  Her chocolate chip cookies were a magnet for teens hanging out to play games at their home.

Lynn made the world a more beautiful place with her love of music and gardening.  She sang in the choir when younger and was a bell ringer at Southminster Presbyterian Church (SPC).  An avid gardener, she led the landscaping committee, and her greenery was a pleasant sight as you passed by the church.  Lynn also served as a church elder.

In spite of a 13-year challenge with stage 4 cancer, her inspiring spirit for life was always evident.  Throughout this journey, she was thankful for great medical care and loving prayers from friends and family.

A celebration of her life will be held at Southminster Church, 799 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15228 on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11:00 am.  In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the SPC Landscape Fund 799 Washington Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15228 (check), Global Peace Building Foundation (www.globalpeacebuilding.org), or Deer Valley YMCA - Conservancy (deervalleyymca.org/give) in her honor and memory.
