Maria D. Bieber

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Maria “Chicki” Bieber, age 82, of Bethel Park on May 20, 2021.

Maria was the beloved mother of Lorri Taucher (Don Welsh) and Becky (Dave) Robinson; proud ma’am of Justin Taucher (Britany Klous) of South Fayette; cherished aunt and titi to numerous nieces and nephews. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Maria was predeceased by her former husband and dear friend, Wilbert C. “Bill” Bieber.

Maria was born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico. She loved to cook from scratch, had two green thumbs, enjoyed an occasional outing to the casino and faithfully watched Law & Order because, according to her, D.A. Jack McCoy was easy on the eyes. Most of all, Maria loved her family. She instilled in her daughters and grandson a strong work ethic, the importance of forgiveness and the value of expressing love, patience and understanding to those in need. 

Maria’s first love may have been her family but following closely behind was her work. As a beautician at Marian Manor Senior Living for over 50 years, she continued to style hair from the ‘Pretty Ladies Room’ until April of 2021 when a cancer diagnosis forced her into early retirement.

A celebration of Maria’s life will be held at Forest Lawn Gardens (3739 Washington Road, McMurray, PA 15317) on Tuesday, May 25, 2021. Visitation in the chapel* will begin at 11:00 am and will be immediately followed by the funeral service at 11:30 am. A reception will be scheduled at a later date. *Due to covid restrictions, masks must be worn at all time while in the chapel.
