Marianne Ranalli Catarella Obituary

 Marianne (Atria) Ranalli Catarella 91, of New Port Richey FL died on Friday, March 8, 2024, at the Life Care Center of New Port Richey.  Born April 2, 1932 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of Antoinette (Laura) and Joseph Atria.  She was a 1949 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and a graduate of the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing program.  She was predeceased by her first husband Anthony John (Bud) Ranalli.  They were married November 14, 1953 and had seven children. She was also predeceased by her brother Nicholas V. Atria and his wife Lillian, and her second husband Joseph C. Catarella.  After a long and rewarding nursing career, she and Bud retired to Florida.  After 37 years of enjoying the Florida sunshine, she remained a passionate Pittsburgh sports fan!  A woman of great faith, she was dedicated to her family, friends and the patients she was entrusted with.  She lived a life that mattered, a life filled with love and service.  She will be greatly missed.  Her memory will be a blessing to those who loved her.  She is survived by two sisters, Antoinette Smith (the late J. Bernard) and Marguerite Atria and many nieces and nephews.  Her children Tony (Nancie), Joe (Susie), Teri Ranalli, Diane Serniak (Rich), Lisa Johnson (Ken), John (Mary) and Paul (Amy), 13 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.  She is also survived by Phillip Catarella (Ellen), 3 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.  The family would like to thank the staff of the Life Care Center of New Port Richey for the wonderful care they provided  our Mom/Gram.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday April 2 at 10 am, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey.  Also, in Pittsburgh family and friends will be received from 6-8 pm on Friday May 31 at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes  222 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216.  A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday June 1 at 10 am at St. Bernard Church - St. Michael the Archangel Parish.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Life Care Center of New Port Richey, Attention: Activities, 7400 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL 34653.
