Marie Emma Hickam

Marie E. Hickam of Pittsburgh, PA died peacefully on Friday October, 17, 2025 at the age of 101. She was born in Pittsburgh on January 18, 1924, daughter of the late Jerry Sr. and Agnes Garbowsky Kadavy.

She attended Duff’s Business College and worked at Westinghouse Research Labs where she met her late husband William M. Hickam.  She enjoyed gardening,  spending summers at her cottage on the Allegheny River, and mostly being with her family. She was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church in Churchill.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers  Jerry Kadavy Jr, in infancy, Donald J Kadavy and her sister, Geraldine Geiger. She was also preceded in death by a dear son-in-law, Thomas Ellis, and niece, Constance (Geiger) Chichester. She is survived by three daughters, Susan Castellana, Linda Trumbull (Mark) and Diane Ellis, three dear nieces, a loving sister-in-law, and was blessed with eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Burial will be private and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Beulah Presbyterian Church or The American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left at www.laughlinfuneralhome.com
