Age 97, of Mount Lebanon, peacefully on Saturday morning, August 21, 2021. Beloved wife for 30 years of the late Alfred Bernard Dressman; devoted mother of Michael (Frances) Dressman of Houston, TX; Stephen Dressman of Ocean Pines, MD; Christopher Dressman (the late, Mary) of Colorado Springs, CO; Ellen Dressman (Dennis Holton) of Inverness, CA; Mary Lou Dressman-Conroy (Christopher) of Bethel Park; Maureen Dressman of Lancaster, PA; Marjorie (Keith) Barnhart of Bethel Park; and the late Alfred Bernard Dressman, Jr.; grandmother of 19 and great-grandmother of 26; daughter of the late Raymond C. and Ann Marie (Grabman) Rowan; sister of Edward Rowan, Ann Marie Sylvester, both of Charleston, WV, the late Raymond Rowan, Marjorie Ridenour, Betty Rose DuBois and Thomas Rowan; also survived by 70+ nieces and nephews. Mary was born in Charleston, WV; attended Sacred Heart Elementary and High School where she was named Valedictorian and maintained a perfect attendance record for all 12 years. Those achievements signaled the mental acuity and physical drive that would characterize her for nearly a century. She attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music studying classical piano during the day and supporting the War Effort at night working at Wright Aeronautical in Cincinnati, where she met her beloved Alfred. Mary took great pride in her family and her children’s educational achievements. She was a skilled craftswoman who crocheted and knitted hundreds of afghans and articles of clothing. Mary was an excellent cook who prepared recipes such as bread, fruitcake, fudge, lasagna, and hardtack in generous quantities to be shared with family and friends. She actively served Saint Winifred Church in the Christian Mothers and by working the Food Pantry, organizing Bake Sales, laboring at the Junque Sale as well creating Liturgical Banners with her dear friend, Jane Tierney. Mary enjoyed playing / teaching piano and being a part of her Summit Drive neighborhood. Her family would like to thank Family Hospice and Palliative Care along with Marian Manor for the compassionate care given to their mom. Friends will be welcomed at St. Winifred Church, 550 Sleepy Hollow Road, Mt. Lebanon on Saturday morning, August 28th from 9:00 until Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30. Interment in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
