Mary was born in Charleston, WV; attended Sacred Heart Elementary and High School where she was named Valedictorian and maintained a perfect attendance record for all 12 years. Those achievements signaled the mental acuity and physical drive that would characterize her for nearly a century. She attended Cincinnati Conservatory of Music studying classical piano during the day and supporting the War Effort at night working at Wright Aeronautical in Cincinnati, where she met her beloved Alfred. Mary took great pride in her family and her children’s educational achievements. She was a skilled craftswoman who crocheted and knitted hundreds of afghans and articles of clothing. Mary was an excellent cook who prepared recipes such as bread, fruitcake, fudge, lasagna, and hardtack in generous quantities to be shared with family and friends. She actively served Saint Winifred Church in the Christian Mothers and by working the Food Pantry, organizing Bake Sales, laboring at the Junque Sale as well creating Liturgical Banners with her dear friend, Jane Tierney.  Mary enjoyed playing / teaching piano and being a part of her Summit Drive neighborhood. Her family would like to thank Family Hospice and Palliative Care along with Marian Manor for the compassionate care given to their mom.
