Mary Eleanor (Henderson) Sourbeer

Age 101, of Upper St. Clair, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 13, 2024. Mary Eleanor was born in Enon Valley, PA on February 4, 1923, to the late John William and Emma Grace (Beckwith) Henderson. Beloved wife of 56 years, to the late Robert H. Sourbeer. Loving Mother of John Emory (Kathy) Sourbeer, Eleanor Beckwith (Ronn) Wade, and Melvin Reed (Karen) Sourbeer. Devoted grandmother of Mary Eleanor (Carl) Taylor, Sarah Elizabeth (TJ) Harston, Katie (Ben) Barch, Joshua (Blayr) Sourbeer and Jessica Sourbeer.  Dearest Great-grandmother to Griff and Claire Taylor, Arya Sourbeer and TJ Harston Jr.

Mary Eleanor served in the US Navy during World War II as a WAVE. She received a World War II Victory Medal and American Area Campaign Medal.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Mount Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 255 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, 15216, Friday, July 26th from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M. Light refreshments will be served following the service. Interment to follow in Brush Run Cemetery, 128 Brush Run Road, Venetia, 15367.
