Mary Ann (Lynch) Sobieralski

Age, 90, Passed away peacefully on October 20, 2024.  Mary Ann was born and raised in Mt. Lebanon, and she was formally of Scott Twp. (Birdland) and Peters Twp. Daughter of the late Bernard and Margaret Lynch. Beloved mother of Kitty Staskelunas (Dave), Linda Strong (Mark), Colleen Bailes (Julian), and the late Michael Sobieralski (surviving Cheryl) and Karen Nuttall (Richard). Sister of the late Jack Lynch. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mary Ann spent her formative years at St. Bernard’s and St Francis Academy.  She was an avid sports fan and was in Sports Illustrated for a Pittsburgh Pirates Fan Club she and her friends started at St. Francis.  She also followed the Steelers and Penguins and even in her final days, she could have coached the Steelers.  She was proud of her Irish heritage and felt St. Patrick’s Day was a high holiday.  She had a great sense of humor and a remarkable knowledge of old movies and Big Band music.  She enjoyed dancing at weddings, celebrating birthdays, and playing cards with her 500 Club.  She never missed an opportunity to play the piano.  She found comfort and joy in her rosary group and the friends that prayed with her.

Mary Ann was known for her loving, kind, thoughtful and generous nature.  Her greatest pride were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

Family and Friends welcome Friday, October 25th, from 5-7 PM, at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, PA 15216. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Saturday, at St. Bernard Church, Mt. Lebanon. Interment to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Hazelwood, PA.
