Michael Pattinato Obituary

Michael “Mike” Pattinato, of Dormont, passed away on Wednesday January 25, 2023, at the age of 74, after a short battle with cancer.  Son of Angeline and the late Frank Pattinato.  Father of Michael, David (Megan) and Cara (Nick). Survived by his current wife, Frances, and former wife, Barbara. Grandfather of Kathleen, John, Maggie, Dominic, Josie and Alina. Mike was the 3rd of 9 siblings and is survived by Anthony, Annamarie (Louis), Angela “Cookie” (the late James), Frank Jr. (Kitty), Terri, Joseph (Dawn) and Vickielynn along with over 50 nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his sister Arlene “Dolly” (Louis) and his granddaughter, Anna. Mike was born on July 7, 1948. He grew up in the Hill District before moving to Dormont in the 1960s where he attended Keystone Oaks High School. Mike, a combat veteran, was drafted and served his country with the 588th Engineer Battalion in Vietnam from 1968-70. After returning from the war, he became the local plumber. You could call him at any time and he truly appreciated all of his customers - many who became great friends. You could find him at the Dormont Eat’n Park for daily breakfast surrounded by many lifelong friends likely discussing football, the PA Lottery, or how he could cook a meal better. He loved a great party, being first in the buffet line, sneaking treats to everyone’s dogs and cats, and his annual hunting trip. You’d never see him sitting in traffic because he knew every backroad in the South Hills. He will be missed dearly by so many family members, friends and customers. Friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes 222 Washington Road Mt. Lebanon on Sunday January 29 from 1:00 – 5:00pm. A funeral mass will be held in St. Bernard Church, St. Michael the Archangel Parish on Monday at 10:00am. Interment in Mount Lebanon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the Vietnam Veterans of America vva.org/donate/
