Nancy Ann (Thibodeau) Brockenbrough, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026, at the age of 91. Nancy was born in Washington, DC, on September 19, 1934, to Sophia Bray (Wonson) Thibodeau and Thomas Albert Thibodeau, Sr. She was the beloved wife of Roger L. Brockenbrough; loving mother of John Brockenbrough (Laura), Allan Brockenbrough (Donna), Elaine Brockenbrough (Kelly Esenberg), and Roger T. Brockenbrough (Carmina); and devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren, Spencer, Kayla, Carter, Clayton, Sophia, Jackson, Lukas, and Manika.
Nancy attended Trinity College in Washington, DC, graduating in 1956 with a BA degree in English, and held a deep appreciation for literature throughout her life. In 1957 she married Roger, and together they made their home in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, for 68 years.
Nancy and her family cherished summers in Gloucester, Massachusetts, a place she had loved since childhood. A lifelong gardener, she followed in the footsteps of her mother, creating beautiful and memorable displays over the years. She also greatly enjoyed sewing, including embroidery, knitting, and garment-making. She collected dolls from early childhood, taking great pleasure in creating clothing and settings to display them, and she shared many of these creations through her blog, dollvogue.com. Nancy’s love of art, sewing, and literature was deeply woven into her family life and has been passed on to her children and grandchildren, many of whom have been inspired by her and share her appreciation of the arts.
A private ceremony will be held. In lieu of flowers, please consider sharing a cherished memory of Nancy on the family’s online guestbook.
