On Thursday May 27, 2021, Patricia S. Kracklauer, 87, passed away surrounded by family in her Mt. Lebanon home. Patricia was born in the village of Rhineland, Missouri in 1934. From a young age, Patricia was known for her tenacity, perseverance, intelligence, and heart. These traits remained apparent throughout her life. Patricia received her B.A. in English from Northwestern University and was a proud member of Alpha Chi Omega. In 1956, Patricia married the late, yet ever-present, Frederick Kracklauer to whom she remained married for 59 years. The pair settled in Pittsburgh to raise their children, the late William Kracklauer (Liane), Julia Tomer (Chris), and Beth Kracklauer. Patricia worked for many years as an educator and interior designer, noted by many for her impeccable taste in clothing, furniture, and food. Patricia, affectionately known as Gammy, is survived by her daughters, Julia and Beth, her grandchildren Caitlin Griffiths (Carl), William Tomer (Emma), Matthew Kracklauer, and Nora Tomer, as well as her great-grandchildren Oliver and Theodore Griffiths. Patricia is also remembered by a large, loving extended family. Her wit, humor, and love will be sorely missed by all. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, no services will be held at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Literacy Pittsburgh at literacypittsburgh.org/charitable-donations/
