Peter Taggart Horn

Peter T. Horn, Sr., 66, of Mount Lebanon, died suddenly on Wednesday, July 20, 2022. Beloved husband for 42 years of Gloria Ann (Palka) Horn. Devoted son of the late William P. and Jerry W. Horn; brother of William (Linda) Horn, and Jane Horn; loving father of Kathy (John) Franklin, Peter T. (Chelsea) Horn, Jr., Sara Horn, and Tommy (Maddie) Horn; “Pop” of grandchildren Kate, Kelly, Gray, and James. Pete is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins whom he adored.

Pete was a 1974 graduate of Mt. Lebanon High School and a proud member of the 1972 State Champion Wrestling Team. He attended Dean College and St. Vincent College. Pete worked in his family business Jerry W. Horn Art Gallery, and for the last 39 years, owned and operated Gloria Horn Sewing Studio with his wife. He spent the last five years renovating his childhood home inside and out for his growing family. Pete could fix anything.

He loved all sports, and especially loved teaching and coaching his children. He cherished memories of traveling with friends to his children’s countless hockey, baseball, and figure skating events. Pete’s favorite vacation spot was Cape May, NJ, where he enjoyed reunions with his extended family every year of his life.

Ask any of Pete’s friends or family and they will tell you how he went out of his way to make sure they were cared for, happy, and having fun.

Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Funeral Home, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon on Tuesday from 4:00-7:00pm.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Bernard Church Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock

Interment in Mount Lebanon Cemetery followed by lunch at his favorite restaurant, Carbonara’s.  All are welcome.
