Priscilla (Spring) Utzig

Priscilla (Spring) Utzig, age 93, passed away peacefully at Providence Point, on February 23, 2025.

Beloved wife of 58 years to the late Joseph J. Utzig Jr.; mother of Lynda (Bill Dobos) of Finleyville and Susan (Peter LeBrun) Chalons-Browne of Connecticut; grandmother of Jessica (Alex), Hannah (Sydney), Alexandra and Daniel; great-grandmother to Merrick and Levi.

Mrs. Utzig was born in Hingham, Massachusetts on November 30, 1931. She graduated from Hingham High School and received her nursing degree from New England Baptist class of 1952. She was assistant head nurse of the nursery at the South Shore Hospital. After marriage she moved to Pittsburgh with her beloved “Jay” and resumed nursing at South Side Hospital.

Priscilla was a longtime member of PEO, a Girl Scout leader, a gifted craftswoman, an avid volunteer, a generous philanthropist and a good, kind and thoughtful friend. While living at Providence Point she made friends with many of the nurses who cared for her and always had a ready smile and a full bowl of candy to share with them.

She will truly be missed by her family and many friends.

A memorial service and celebration of Priscilla’s life will be held on March 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the chapel in Providence Point 500 Providence Point Blvd Pittsburgh PA.
