Ray "Fred" Labadie

On January 6, 2024, Ray “Fred” Labadie, age 90, was welcomed home.

Fred is survived by his wife of 60 years, Imelda “Mel” Labadie; children Raymond M., Robert (Karyn), and William Labadie; grandchildren Matthew (Becky), Jameson, Aidan, and Zachary. He was also blessed with a great granddaughter, Lyla, in 2022.

Fred is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Klostermeyer and brother, Paul Labadie.

Fred’s Catholic faith was always a central part of his life. He attended John Carroll University and the University of Detroit, where he obtained an electrical engineering degree. He later obtained an MBA from Pitt. He spent 40 years working for the Square D Company.

Always a hiker and walker, in recent years, Fred and Mel spent most days during retirement with an early walk in South Park. Retirement also gave them an opportunity to hike in several of the national parks. Fred had a wonderful sense of humor, along with a kind and gentle spirit that blessed all who encountered him. May he rest in the beauty of God’s love.
