In Loving Memory of Richard “Ricky” Benack
Richard “Ricky” Benack loving husband of Maureen (Marcy) Benack, step father to Bailey (Kevin) Gallagher, grandfather to Gage Edwards and Grayson Gallagher, passed away on Saturday April 18, 2026, surrounded by loving family and friends, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, adventure, and deep love for his family and friends. He was a man who embraced life fully, finding joy in the simple moments and the people who meant the most to him.
Ricky was drafted into the United States Army in 1972, serving his country with strength and pride. After his time in the service, he devoted his life to working as a bricklayer—a trade he carried throughout his entire career until retirement. His dedication, craftsmanship, and strong work ethic left a lasting mark that will not be forgotten.
He had a passion for the open road and loved riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Ricky also enjoyed muscle cars, good music, and relaxing by a campfire, where he could share stories, laughter, and a cold Iron City beer with those around him.
Family was at the center of Ricky’s life. He loved spending time with all his family and friends, especially his grandsons, who brought him great pride and happiness. He cherished traveling across the country with his wife, creating memories and enjoying the journey together.
Ricky will be remembered as a devoted husband, proud grandfather, loyal friend, and a hardworking man who lived life his way. His presence, stories, and spirit will be deeply missed but forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
