Age 67, of Castle Shannon, left us peacefully on October 15, 2025. Rich was the son late Jennie and Joseph Fest. He was one of six children and grew up in a lively, close-knit family alongside his siblings Joseph, Roberta, JoAnn, Donald, and Maxine.
He was the beloved husband of Karen Dobrynzski and the proud father of four children: Jessica, Nichole, Danielle, and Richard. He was also a cherished grandfather to Lena, Josh, Angelina, Nate, and Rebecca, all of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life.
A lifelong resident of Castle Shannon, Rich had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He was passionate about gardening and found peace and happiness in hiking, camping, chasing waterfalls, and going on road trips to see the fall foliage. Known for his quick wit and endless supply of dad jokes, Rich’s sense of humor and warmth made him a joy to be around and left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Rich’s love, laughter, and quiet strength will be deeply missed by his family and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Arbor Day Foundation, www.arborday.org
A private service will be held for immediate family. A memorial gathering to celebrate Rich’s life will be announced at a later date.
