Robert L. “Bob” Donalies, 79, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on May 26, 2025, in Juneau, Alaska, with his loving wife Patty by his side. He was the son of the late William R. and Anna Morgan Donalies, the beloved husband of Patricia Walton-Donalies, loving father of Shelley Donalies, Sherry Zinn (Debbie Powers), Candy (Henry) Byrd, Jamie (Marci) Zinn, Christian (Kelly) Zinn, the late Kimberly (late Shawn) Murphy and the late Karen (Matthew) Schneider. He was the dearest grandfather of Shamus and Kaitlyn Murphy, Matthew and Jonathon Schneider, Anthony Reed, Jamilyn Zinn, and Branden and Ryan Zinn. He was the brother of the late Richard (Wilma) Donalies and is also survived by Godson Michael Donalies and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was a devoted member of St. Michael the Archangel Parish, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He attended mass daily with his wife Patty. He loved making apple pies with the other members of the parish for the holidays to benefit the school. He was a long-time active member of the Society of St. Vincent DePaul and was a former Conference Treasurer. He also volunteered at the St. Winifred Food Pantry three times a week. He exercised regularly with Patty at the Jewish Community Center. Bob was a proud veteran and served in the Navy for two years. He spent his working career as a Draftsman for various engineering firms designing steel mills. He and Patty enjoyed traveling to new places and visiting family and friends, and they were on the “trip of a lifetime” when he passed.
