Robert M. Gannon Obituary

Robert (Bob) Gannon passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday, July 21, 2026. Bob was a loving and thoughtful son, brother, uncle, and friend. His kindness, care, and dutiful service to others left a remarkable impact on the world and a light in his wake. Bob is preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Gannon. Bob’s spirit survives through his immediate family in his mother, Ruth Gannon, and his four siblings, Jimmy (Thong) Gannon, Mark (Maryellen) Gannon, Anne (Russ) Harris, and Lynn (Bob) Opferman. Bob was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, Patrick (Susie) Gannon, Rachel Opferman, Leanne (Colin) Schmidt, Eric (Morgan Hernandez) Harris, Maggie Gannon, Julie Opferman, Kate Gannon, and Matthew (Kayten) Harris. Bob also is cherished by his great nieces and nephews including Madelyn, Roman, Elliott, Braylen, and Lyla. Bob was a graduate of Clarion University and was employed by R.J. Reynolds and Sprint until retirement. Bob’s life was full of adventures through his travels and fishing trips. He adored spending his time with all of his loved ones. Bob created a positive impact on all those he met, and he will be fondly cherished and remembered by his family and many beloved friends. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial offered in St. Anne Church -  St. Paul of the Cross Parish, on Friday, July 24, 2026 at 10:30 AM  In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Bob’s honor.
