Obituary
Age 91, of Mount Lebanon, peacefully on Friday evening, March 31, 2023. Layton was known by all who knew him as a true gentleman who saw the good in everyone. He treated all the same, no matter what their position or status. Son of Dr. Robert Allen Selby and Ivy Fern (Layton) Selby; beloved and devoted husband of the late Mary Gail (McConnell) Selby; proud father of Robert L. Jr., his wife Jude, Jonathan G., his wife Erica, Paul A., his wife Amy, Mark C. and Christopher T. Selby; brother of the late Joy (Selby) Scollon; loving grandfather of Meaghan, Gregory, Timothy, Katie and Alexander; great-grandfather of Maverick; also survived by longtime friend, Luetta Waddell. Layton was an Army Veteran and longtime Westinghouse Employee. He loved his family and singing in the church choir. Family and friends will gather for a Memorial Service at First Baptist Church of Crafton, One Oregon Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15205, on Wednesday, April 12th at 3:15 PM. Interment will be private. If desired, memorials may be made to The First Baptist Church of Crafton.
