Age 84, of Mt. Lebanon, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday June 18, 2022. Husband of the late Margaret T. “Peg” Behling; devoted father of Lindsey Kordella and her husband Bob of Mt. Lebanon, and Gregg Behling and his wife Caroline of Annapolis, MD; proud grandfather of Kelsey Kordella Giotta and her husband Dennis, Kara Kordella Wockley and her husband Ryan, Sydney Behling and her fiancé Brody, and Peyton Behling; great-grandfather of Margaret Giotta; brother of Richard Behling and his wife Debbie.
Roy graduated from Cornell University as a mechanical engineer. He traveled the world visiting six continents over the course of his career. He was a devout member of Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church, serving as an elder and leader of the Senior Men’s Work Group. Roy could make or fix anything and was never without his toolbox. He was a lifelong problem-solver and loved working on a project in his extensive workshop. As a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather he was always ready and willing to give a hand in any way. He also enjoyed spending time with his dear friend Gladys Johnston. Roy had a lifelong love of the water and was an experienced sailor, extensively sailing Lake Erie and the Chesapeake Bay. In his limited spare time, he was an avid golfer, bowler, and shrewd bridge player.
Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Friday from 5-8 PM. Services at Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 255 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon on Saturday at 10:00 AM. Interment Robinson Run Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
