Ruth A. Eiler

Age, 95 of Friendship Village in Upper St. Clair, formerly of Mt. Lebanon, PA, peacefully passed on Thursday, May 19, 2022. Daughter of the late Oliver R. Stiff and Ruth (Goucher) Stiff; beloved wife for 52 years of the late Dr. William A. Eiler.; mother of W. Scott Eiler (Barbara), Jeffrey A. Eiler (Kaye) and Cynthia Eiler Bowman; grandmother of Carolynn Eiler (Zachary Platis), Brian Eiler (Sarah), Michelle Umaña (Steve), Dylan Eiler, Jeffrey Eiler and Rebecca Sprague (Leah); great grandmother of Maci Eiler. Ruth was a graduate of South Hills High School (1944), attended Grove City College and received a B.A. (1948) and M.Ed. (1951) from the University of Pittsburgh where she was a member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. She was a member of the Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church, South Hills College Club and Mt. Lebanon Council of Republican Women. She loved to play bridge, earning several master points, attended 50 years of lectures at Town Hall South, loved the stage, movies and football. A Memorial service will be held at Friendship Village on Sunday, May 29, 2022 at 1:00pm. Contributions may be sent to Mt. Lebanon Evangelical Presbyterian Church or the Parkinson's Foundation.
