Sara (Sally) C. Bauer

Age 85, of Dormont, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, surrounded by family. Daughter of the late Walter E. and Sara N. (Spargo) Bauer and sister of the late Mary Margaret Duhig and the late John F. Bauer. Beloved godmother, aunt, and cousin to many.

Sara was most proud of her career as a nurse. She first attended St. Joseph’s School of Nursing and then went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Duquesne University, attending night school while working full time. She worked as the Director of Nursing for the Allegheny County Health Department for many years.

Sara was very family-oriented, and she would drop anything to help anyone with any health-related issues. She loved dogs, including her companion of many years, Popeye. In her free time, Sara enjoyed studying and practicing wood carving. She was a devoted Catholic, starting when she attended St. Bernard Elementary School.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at St. Bernard Church (St. Michael the Archangel Parish), 311 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon, PA 15216. Interment to follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
