Sheila M Cusick

Sheila M. Cusick, age 74, died peacefully on Thursday June 23, 2022, at home and surrounded by her family. Daughter of the late James P. and Mary Shiring McArdle and sister of Patrick McArdle (Margaret), Mary McArdle (Rebecca Schultz) and the late James P. McArdle Jr. Beloved wife of Daniel Cusick; loving mother of Patrick Cusick (Connie Martin), Brian Cusick (Christin Sciulli), Brendan Cusick (Erica), Timothy Cusick (Kelsey Schweiberger), and Colleen Morris (Adam); Nana of Rory and Maisie Cusick and Lily and Lainey Morris. Sheila was a 1971 graduate of Ohio University. She worked for many years as a teacher in Charles County MD, Dayton OH, and teacher and volleyball coach at St. Bernard School. She was also an active member of St. Bernard Parish where she belonged to the Ladies of Charity, served as a eucharistic minister and taught pre-baptism classes. Sheila enjoyed crafting and most importantly spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Sheila enjoyed traveling with her husband and they took many cruises and trips to Punta Cana together. All this and more occurred because her birth mother, Doris Sidler, chose life for Sheila. Friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon on Tuesday from 6-8 pm and on Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Michael the Archangel Parish, St. Bernard Church, 311 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ave Maria Academy, 401 Washington Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15216 or to the Alzheimer’s Association: Greater Pennsylvania Chapter, 2835 E Carson St., Suite 200, Pittsburgh, PA 15203.
