Age 76, of Castle Shannon, PA, passed away on December 29, 2023 after a long battle with cancer. He was born in Pittsburgh on July 11, 1947. Beloved husband for 49 years to Candace Hoffman; loving father to daughter Kellyn (Brian) Stascavage. In addition to his wife and daughter, he is survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Fred (Dot) Hoffman, Bill (Pat) Hoffman and Jim (Earlene) Hoffman; and his sisters, Joan (Michael) Zoumadakis and Toni (Regis) Conley.
Lou graduated from South Hills High School, where he was a star pitcher. He served in the U.S. Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was honorably discharged in 1972. He later went on to work at Bank of New York Mellon for over 30 years to provide for his family. He was quite the homebody — the type of man who had his favorite lounging chair to watch the Pirates and Steelers games on television. Despite his stoic demeanor, Lou had a quick and dry sense of humor. Family and friends will forever cherish the memories of the joy Lou brought into their lives.
A graveside service with military honors will be private for family and friends at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.
