Thomas R. Crain, Jr.

Thomas R. "TR" Crain Jr, DDS, a longtime resident of Green Tree, PA, passed Thursday June 20, 2024.  Born April 2, 1954, son of the late Thomas Robert Crain Sr and Alberta K. (Schoenfeld) Crain of Scott Township, PA. Survived by his brother Captain Dan (Kathleen) Crain, USN (ret.), his niece Alison Crain (Nick Alberstadt) and nephew Lieutenant Commander Sean (Alexandra) Crain, USN, and their children Hazel, Emmett, Madison, and Morgan.  TR was unconditionally loved by his devoted golden retriever Ellie.

After graduating from South Catholic High School in 1972, TR completed his undergraduate studies at West Virginia University, continuing to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS).  From 1982 through 2014 he was a well-respected dentist in Dormont, PA. 

Beyond pride in his profession, TR loved sports, playing hockey during and after college.  He was an avid Penguins and Steelers fan. He also enjoyed spending time in and around Morgantown, bowling, bocce, and shuffleboard with his Beadling Club friends. 

On Wednesday morning, July 3, 2024, family and friends are invited to gather at Saint Bernard Church (St. Michael the Archangel Parish) 311 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon from 9:30 until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 o’clock. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, 390 Old Hickory Ridge Road., Washington, PA 15301 or Harmony Dog Rescue, PO Box 8758, Pittsburgh, PA  15221.  

Arrangements have been entrusted to Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes.
