Vera D. (Wiles) Jones

Age 98, Vera passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024. Daughter of the late Chuck and Katie (Cook) Wiles; mother of Charles “Chuck” (Sharon), Bruce (Verna), and Cindy (Keith Thomas). Cherished grandmother to Kelle, Jenny, Sherry, Katie, Lisa, and Mark. Beloved great-grandmother to 13 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her siblings: Herb Wiles, Virginia McNickel, Chuck Wiles, and Donna Pierce.

Vera had a great capacity to love and live life to the fullest. She was a LPN at Kane Regional Hospital for 35 years. After her hospital days she continued to work and travel, golf and do her puzzle books. Vera loved to dance and cruise the seven seas. She taught her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to play card games, enjoyed family time and animals, especially her cat Riley. Vera’s last years were spent in the home of her devoted daughter Cindy where she was a blessing to help watch some of her great-grandchildren weekly.

We entrust Vera into the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ; she will be in our hearts until we meet again in eternity.

Family and friends are welcome on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at Laughlin Cremation & Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Rd., Mount Lebanon, PA 15216. 

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Thursday, December 19, 2024, at St Barbara Church - Corpus Christi Parish, 45 Prestley Rd Bridgeville, PA 15017. Interment to follow at Saint Barbara Roman Catholic Cemetery.
