Virginia S. "Ginny" Nicklas

Virginia “Ginny” Nicklas, a lifetime resident of Mt. Lebanon, died Friday May 20, 2022.  Born in 1927, she was the daughter of the late John B. Nicklas, Jr. and Dorothy Stewart Nicklas.  Ginny is survived by her sister, Nancy Lee Mohler, niece, Susan M. Johnson, and nephews, James L. Mohler and David G. Mohler.  She was a graduate of the University of Michigan and a dedicated supporter of the school, generously donating to many different programs over the years.  Ginny was a passionate fan of Michigan football and a longtime season ticket holder.  She was a member and supporter of Tri Delta Sorority.  Ginny traveled extensively throughout her life, often with the Alumni Association of the University of Michigan.  Philanthropy was a big part of Ginny’s life.  She worked in fundraising for WQED and then the University of Pittsburgh.  Many diverse charities benefited from her substantial contributions.  She was very active in the Historical Society of Mt. Lebanon and the South Hills College Club. A memorial service will be held at Heinz Chapel on Friday August 19, 2022 at 12:30 PM.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the University of Michigan or The Historical Society of Mt. Lebanon.
