Age 98, of Mt. Lebanon, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 25, 2023. Son of the late William and Margaret Zimmer Timmons; brother of the late John, Wilbert, Calvin, William, Leroy, Grace and Herbert Timmons; survived by his nieces and nephews. Warren graduated from South Hills High School, where he played basketball, and with his team won the 1942 Pittsburgh City Basketball Championship. With the exception of his younger brother, Herbert, Warren and his other five brothers all served in WW-II, three in the Army and three in the Navy, and all returned home safely. Warren, the youngest of the six that served, enlisted after graduating high school, and served in the Navy. He worked for the U.S. Post Office for 35 years and was a P.I.A.A. Basketball Referee for 50 years. He was a longtime member of Centennial Masonic Lodge #544 in Carnegie, V.F.W. Post #1810 in Brentwood, South Hills Elks Club and Brookline American Legion Post #540. He was an avid golf player and taught many ”youngsters” how to play. Friends will be received at Laughlin Cremation and Funeral Tributes, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a V.F.W. Service at 6:30 p.m. and a Masonic Service at 6:45 p.m. All are welcome to meet in the Chapel at South Side Cemetery, 1404 Brownsville Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15210, for his Committal Service with Military Honors on Tuesday morning at 11:00 a.m.
