Of Mt. Lebanon, peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2015, after a courageous battle with melanoma. Son of the late Harry and Lillian (Hartnett) O'Neil of Brentwood;  beloved husband for 36 years of Joan (Bowers) O’Neil; cherished father of Brigid (François) Gast, Kevin, and Norah O’Neil; loving grandpap of Henri Gast and anticipating the arrival of a second grandson; dear brother of  Eileen (Patrick) Ryan of Carmel, IN, and Terrence (Fran) of Gibsonia; brother in law of Joyce Bowers of Johnstown and the late Margaret “Peggy” Maricle of Holt, MI; also sadly missed by many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition, Danny loved his new extended family in France with his welcoming spirit. His passions included gardening, dancing, traveling and researching his Irish ancestry. He enjoyed hosting and attending parties where he will be remembered for his infectious laugh, a smile that lit up the room, his generosity and fun-loving nature. He was a graduate of Brentwood High School and Point Park University.  Recently he was employed by Price Waterhouse Coopers, and formerly by Bank of America, Mellon Bank, and Union National Bank. Family and friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mt. Lebanon, Thursday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Drive, Castle Shannon, Friday morning at 9:30. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
