Francis R. Wagner

Age 89, of Mount Lebanon, a gentleman and hero went to be with his Lord on Monday, November 16, 2015. In 1956, he married the love of his life, Anna D. Boronky and with 60 years of unwavering devotion began their family of Michael “Mickey” (Jennifer) Wagner of Takoma Park, MD and Nancy Kraemer of  Mount Lebanon. He was the proud Pap of Alex, Ceilidh and Jack Wagner, Amanda and Andrea Kraemer; brother of Esther Humes, the late Kathryn Wagner, Helen Tamiggi and Robert Wagner; also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Francis played forward for the Conley Trade School basketball team and goalie for their soccer team. He loved all sports especially those of Notre Dame University. At age 17, Francis joined the 83rd Army Division and eventually was a military policeman in the 796th Battalion in Vienna, Austria achieving the rank of Lieutenant. He was a mentor, a teacher and will remain an inspiration forever. Friends will be welcomed at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Road, Mount Lebanon Wednesday 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Saint Anne Church, 400 Hoodridge Drive, Thursday morning at 9:30. Interment in Saint Anne Cemetery. If desired, memorials may be made to the Humane Society.
